Foundation Stage Weekly Newsletter

Puffins and Penguins Weekly Newsletter, 14th June 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been an action packed week for Puffins and Penguins. They deserve a restful weekend.

Sally, our Oral Health Educator, came to observe the children brushing their teeth. She was very impressed with their knowledge and technique. She said they demonstrated responsibility and dedication in keeping their teeth clean and healthy. Sally gave each child a gift bag so the great work can continue at home.

We enjoyed two successful swimming sessions this week. It was wonderful to have so many keen and enthusiastic swimmers. The children were very independent and determined. We are looking forward to supporting them to become water safe confident swimmers.

On Thursday, we attended our first sports festival. The children were great ambassadors for the school. They took part in a carousel of activities including relays, obstacle course, parachute and ball games. They listened to instructions and worked as a team taking turns.

Caterpillar Update! We have 30 very hungry caterpillars. They have spent the week eating and growing. They are no longer little caterpillars they are big fat caterpillars. The children are fascinated by how much they have grown. It has prompted a lot of discussion and some wonderful writing. Some of the caterpillars are climbing to the top of the cup ready to shed their exoskeleton for one last time before they become chrysalides.

Have a wonderful weekend.
