Eco Committee News

This week, the Eco-Committee have been working with Alex from Resource Futures to explore the rubbish in our school. They started off by completing a waste audit to see what rubbish is thrown away and what is recycled. As a school we are already recycling 70% of our rubbish, including food waste, which is fantastic. However, from our audit, we think we can improve this, so the children explored ways to continue to improve our recycling in school to help our planet. Sustainability links to our School Aim of 'Be a Good Citizen' - we want our children to understand how sustainability helps them become better citizens in the future.

Alex was very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and commitment, and the Eco-Committee will be presenting a whole school assembly after half term where they will share their findings and next steps with the rest of the school.

Well done Eco-Committee for showing Responsibility for our school and the planet!
