Penguins and Puffins Weekly Newsletter 8th February 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

We all enjoyed dressing up to celebrate our work on ‘People who Help Us’. The children looked amazing and had fun taking on the role of a hero. Thank you to you, the parents and carers, for providing the wonderful outfits, everyone had lots of fun. The children also had the opportunity to share their learning with the whole school during assembly. They were very brave and spoke beautifully about our recent visitors and shared some memorable moments. We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different roles within the community and how our school values underpin everyday life. We are very proud of all their hard work.

We are keen for the children to experience a variety of activities which enable them explore and assess risks. In the woodland camp this week the children have been using a hammer and nails. They showed great determination and understood the need for safety.

Home learning

  • Find out something interesting about Chinese New Year to share with your friends next week.
  • Explore halving things and talk about how a half needs to be 2 equal pieces. It is also good to talk about why it may not be a half. i.e there are more than two pieces or the two pieces are not equal.
  •  Draw a picture in your red book and write a simple sentence underneath. Remember those finger spaces.

Congratulations to Mrs Yeo who gave birth to baby George. He arrived safely on Saturday weighing 7lb 9oz. We can’t wait to meet him.

Dates to remember:

School Disco Thursday 14th February. Come in non-uniform and please bring £3 for our school PTA (FOPPS)

School finishes for half term on Thursday 14th February and reopens on Monday 25th February.

Many thanks, Foundation Team
