Coastal Explorers Update
We have been very lucky with the weather so far this term for our weekly walks to the beach. The children have been developing their knowledge of the beach and the processes acting upon it. Children have raised questions, through their own observations, about a variety of subjects including: the comparative hardness of rocks; how rocks are formed; erosion of the cliffs and coastal protection; the differences between sand and shingle beaches; geological history of the area; rock pools as a habitat and the adaptations of plants and animals living there.

This week, we are lucky to be joined by Dr Matt Winter, a scientist from Exeter University who has specialised in marine biology and will be on hand to answer some of the trickier questions children have!
