We are just about to embark on a new reading initiative across the school. It is a reading program called ‘Accelerated Reader’ and it is aimed at all readers who have graduated from Read Write Inc. It will involve a complete overhaul of our current Library stock and will level books according to difficulty, subject and age interest. It will enable teachers to guide children to the most appropriate books for individuals and will enable children to make informed decisions and show a greater understanding of the texts they are choosing to read. However before it gets underway we firstly have to reorganize our current book stock; we are therefore asking for all library books to be brought back to school by the end of next week Friday 19^th January. Children will not be able to bring Library books home for a number of weeks, sorry for any inconvenience. More information about ‘Accelerated Reader’ will follow shortly.
