World Book Day is a wonderful opportunity to promote a ‘love of learning’, one of our school aims. On Friday, the whole school had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day. This annual event is a collaborative celebration of reading, books, authors and illustrators. Reading is at the heart of our curriculum, and developing a love of books and reading inspires children to read for pleasure. It was lovely to see so many children dressed up as book characters; they all looked wonderful. A big thank you to parents and carers for your help in providing the costumes. Children also enjoyed sharing their favourite books and making recommendations to one another.

Every child came home with a £1 World Book Day token. These can be exchanged for one of the exclusive 2024 World Book Day books or, £1 can be redeemed against the full price of another book.
