Be a Good Citizen
Be a Good Citizen

As part of our School Aim of ‘Be A Good Citizen’, our Livermead House Captains, Maya and Albie, have shown fantastic leadership and responsibility by taking time to research charities that make a positive impact in our local community. Following their research, they selected to fundraise for Animals in Distress - a charity dedicated to caring for vulnerable animals by providing vet care, safe shelter, and support.
Maya and Albie worked diligently to write a thoughtful letter to Animals in Distress. They explained their fundraising plans, shared why the cause was important to them, and kindly asked if someone from the charity could visit Preston to speak to the children in Livermead House.
We were delighted when Clare and her team responded so warmly - and even more excited when they visited the Livermead House assembly this week! The children loved meeting their special furry visitor and learning more about the incredible work Animals in Distress does every day and the incredible impact that fundraising has in supporting animals become healthy and happy. Clare and her team kindly donated school fundraising packs to support the House Captains and provided each class with an Animals in Distress magazine so they can find out more about the charity.
Next, our dedicated House Captains will be working with their House to organise a fundraising event in support of this amazing charity. They will be demonstrating their School Value of Teamwork as they plan an activity that brings their peers together to make a meaningful difference.
