Be a Good Citizen

May 15, 2026

As part of our School Aim, ‘Be a Good Citizen’ our Meadfoot House Captains – Alfred, Jacob, Lydia, and Ivy – have shown great leadership by choosing to support a charity that makes an impactful difference to people’s lives. After much research, they decided to fundraise for Cancer Research, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by cancer and helping to find life-saving treatments.

Meadfoot House were pleased to welcome Heidi, who visited to speak with the children in Meadfoot House. Although Heidi is not directly from Cancer Research, she shared valuable insights about the importance of fundraising and the positive impact it can have on others. She spoke about how raising money helps support vital research and care, and how even small actions can make a big difference to people’s lives.

Heidi also explained how fundraising can be enjoyable and rewarding, helping children to understand that giving back to others can make you feel proud and happy. Her visit inspired the children to think creatively about how they can contribute and work together for a good cause.

Following Heidi’s visit, our Meadfoot House Captains will now be working closely with their house to plan a fundraising event for Cancer Research soon. As they plan their event, Alfred, Jacob, Lydia, and Ivy will be demonstrating our School Value of Teamwork and helping Meadfoot House come together to make a real difference to the lives of others.
