Connect Lego League STEM Event
Connect Lego League STEM Event at South Devon College

Children from five schools within our Trust, including Preston, came together at South Devon College for an exciting day of creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork on Wednesday 19th November. Each school was represented by a small group of pupils who showed incredible determination and STEM skills.
The Preston Team performed brilliantly, coming away with two certificates, ‘Fastest Robot’ and ‘Best Sportsmanship’. The team were superb, showing excellent Teamwork and Determination to get their robot from a box of Lego, to a fully working robot that completed the obstacle course, with ease.
But it wasn’t only the Preston team that represented Preston, a special mention to our Digital Leaders, who were absolute stars! They acted as tech support for all groups, set up the robot challenge track, and even decided on the awards each school received and then presented them at the end.
This event was a fantastic opportunity for our children to explore our School Aim of ‘Ready for Work’ and live out our School Values of Responsibility and Teamwork in a whole new environment.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing special partnership our school has with South Devon College. The college were superb hosts, providing our schools with enough space to tinker with our robots and set up an arena for our children to complete the obstacle course. Thank you to the team at South Devon College, our children always enjoy visiting.
Our pupils were superb ambassadors for Preston, demonstrating resilience, collaboration, and innovation throughout the day. We couldn’t be prouder!
