eSports Workshop at South Devon College
eSports Workshop at South Devon College

On Friday, a group of our Year 5/6 pupils visited South Devon College for an exciting eSports workshop – the final workshop of the academic year in partnership with South Devon College. This means that every child in Year 5/6 has now had the opportunity to experience one of the fantastic courses available at South Devon College and gain an insight into further education opportunities in our local community.
Throughout the day, the children were excellent ambassadors for our school, demonstrating our School Values impeccably and representing us with pride.
During the morning session, pupils worked alongside a Lecturer in Video Games Design, using their values of Teamwork and Creativity to develop and pitch their own original video game concepts. It was fantastic to see the children's imagination, collaboration, and problem-solving skills on display as they worked on these superb projects.
In the afternoon, the children had the opportunity to experience South Devon College's eSports offer, taking part in friendly gaming sessions featuring Rocket League and Mario Kart. The enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and teamwork shown by the children throughout these activities were outstanding.
The visit also gave pupils the chance to speak with current South Devon College students, learning more about their courses and the wide range of extracurricular club opportunities available to them.
A huge well done to all of the Year 5/6 pupils who attended today. They embraced every opportunity, demonstrated our values throughout the day, and did us incredibly proud as a school.
