Mental Health & Wellbeing

It has been wonderful to see so many children shine brightly in their yellow accessories today. Everyone has taken part in a dedicated class assembly about mental health this week and children of all ages from Foundation Stage to Year 6 have participated so well in these age-appropriate important conversations. We have discussed how feelings can change from day to day, how no feeling is forever, and different ways we can regulate ourselves when our feelings become bigger than we were expecting.
We also shared the importance of being kind to each other and the children had some wonderful examples of when they have been kind, or when the kindness of others has made them feel better. Each child has been challenged to find different ways they can show kindness to the people around them, and we hope to hear lots of stories about how kind they have been over the weekend.
This will help the children to have an impact on the people around them and is Number 20 of our 30 Ways to Connect.
