Shelby the Rhinagon - We Have a Winner!

What a fantastic success the ‘Fantasy Zoo Exhibition’ at Paignton Zoo has been! It was wonderful to see so many incredible sculptures created by local schools, showcasing the imagination, creativity, and talents of children from across the bay.

It was also lovely to see so many families and members of the community visiting the zoo and enjoying the exhibition over half term.

Visitors were invited to vote for their favourite sculpture, and we are absolutely delighted to announce that Shelby the Rhinagon was crowned the winner – by just 18 votes!

We are incredibly proud of all the children at Preston Primary who worked collaboratively across the school to bring Shelby to life. Their creativity, teamwork, and determination have certainly paid off!

Did you visit Shelby at Paignton Zoo? If you captured any photos during your visit, we would love to see them! Please share your photos with us by emailing admin@preston.torbay.sch.uk.

As the winning school, we will be receiving a wonderful selection of books from author Luke Marchant's publisher, which we look forward to sharing with the children and adding to our school library.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition and voted for Shelby, and to Paignton Zoo and Luke Marchant for providing such a fantastic opportunity for our children to showcase their creativity.

We are excited to announce that Shelby will be returning to Preston next week, where our award-winning Rhinagon will take pride of place in school for everyone to admire.

Well done, Team Preston – what an amazing achievement and a wonderful example of what we can accomplish when we work together!
