South Devon College Trip

On Friday, the last group of children from Unit 4 had an incredible opportunity to take part in an eSports workshop delivered by the brilliant team at South Devon College! The day was packed with fun and learning as the children explored the wide range of careers in the video games industry, from game design and development to 'shoutcasting' (commentating on the games being played).

As part of our school’s aim to ensure every child is ‘Ready for Work’, the workshop gave pupils a real flavour of what the college has to offer in this exciting and fast-growing industry.

The children were challenged to design their own videogame based on specific criteria—putting their creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to the test. The day ended with a thrilling Mario Kart tournament, where pupils not only raced but also took turns commentating on each other’s games, showcasing their confidence and communication skills.

Throughout the day, our pupils were fantastic ambassadors for our school, demonstrating our value of Respect throughout the day. Well done eSports group, you were brilliant!
