Sports Day

A Fantastic Sports Day

July 8, 2026

We were delighted to enjoy a fantastic Sports Day, filled with enthusiasm, determination, and plenty of encouragement. Each Unit delivered its own set of races, giving everyone the opportunity to take part and represent their School House.

From traditional races to fun team challenges, the children approached each event with great energy and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see them cheering one another on, celebrating each other’s achievements and showing excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Our Barn Owls children took part in a fun circuit of physical skills and activities in the hall. The activities were carefully planned to meet individual needs, enabling every child to participate, experience success, and enjoy being part of the day.

Sports Day was another valuable opportunity to strengthen the children’s sense of belonging across the school. While children are an important part of their own Unit, belonging to Broadsands, Goodrington, Livermead, or Meadfoot also connects them to the wider school community. It was wonderful to see children contributing to a shared team effort, cheering one another on, and celebrating each other’s achievements.

A special thank you goes to our House Captains and helpers, who supported the organisation and running of events, encouraged younger children, and demonstrated excellent leadership throughout the day.

We would also like to thank FOPPS for running the refreshment stall. Their support was greatly appreciated, and every penny raised goes directly back into the school to support our children and provide further opportunities and resources.

Finally, thank you to our staff for organising and delivering the events and to all the parents, carers, and family members who joined us and created such a supportive atmosphere. A huge well done to all of our children for taking part with such positive attitudes and demonstrating excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.

It was a brilliant day and a wonderful celebration of sport, participation, inclusion, and belonging across our school community. The winning House will be announced in celebration assembly on Friday.
