Unit 3 Art Enrichment

Unit 3 were excellent ambassadors for our school on our trip to Make Southwest in Bovey Tracey. The children engaged well in a willow weaving workshop with a local artist, showing their creativity and determination to create their own woven fish out of local willow branches. It is quite a tricky skill and was brand new to many of our children, but they did not let this phase them and produced some wonderful fishes, which we hope you have enjoyed sharing with your children at home.

Everyone demonstrated excellent manners throughout the workshop, and everyone enjoyed improving their weaving skills with new materials. The children also had a go at creating small, woven dollies out of wool in the style of traditional corn dollies.

This trip has met number 13 of our 30 Ways to Connect, Learning from a local Artist. We are grateful to Make Southwest for the opportunities provided on this trip.
