Unit 4 Bikeability
Unit 4 Bikeability

Over the last three days, children from Year 5 and Year 6 have taken part in their Bikeability cycle training course. The children began on the school site by recapping the fundamentals of safe and effective cycling, before progressing onto public roads, where they put their skills in to practice in real-life situations.
Throughout the course, the children demonstrated our School Values of Determination and Responsibility, showing resilience as they tackled new challenges and making sensible decisions to keep themselves and others safe. By developing their confidence, independence, and awareness of risk, they have strengthened important life skills that will support them both now and in the future.
Personal Development is something we are particularly proud of here at Preston Primary School, and enrichments such as Bikeability enable our children to gain valuable experiences outside of the classroom. This opportunity also enabled our children to put into practice one of our School Aims of Be a Good Citizen, as pupils learned how to share the roads respectfully and safely with others. This also supported our 30 Ways to Connect, number 8 - Learn to ride a bike.
A huge congratulations to all the children who took part in Bikeability. We are incredibly proud of their positive attitudes, excellent conduct, and the progress they made this week. Well done, everyone!
