Unit 4 Celebration of Learning

This half term, Unit 4 have been exploring mechanisms in Design and Technology, with a particular focus on how pulleys can be used to move a load. Yesterday, the children proudly welcomed parents and carers into the hall to share their learning from across the half term and celebrate the progress they have made.

As part of their DT project, the children designed and created their own fairground toy models using pulley mechanisms. They investigated how pulleys work and explored different ways to create effective movement within their designs. The children demonstrated fantastic creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance while building and improving their models, carefully considering how to make them engaging and enjoyable for the KS1 children they were designed for.

Well done, Unit 4! You have shown excellent teamwork, creativity, and determination throughout this project. Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us to celebrate the children’s hard work and learning.
