Autism Awareness Day

Autism Awareness Day

April 2, 2026

On Thursday 2nd April, our school community proudly came together to celebrate Autism Awareness Day, linking our learning to our core values: Be Ready, Be Kind, and Be Safe.

A thoughtful and inspiring class assembly was planned and delivered by pupils from our Autism Provision, The Nest. The children contributed fantastic ideas and spoke with confidence, sharing their experiences and insights with the whole school.

Pupils were ready to learn, exploring how every brain works differently, and why understanding and embracing these differences helps our community grow stronger. The assembly encouraged everyone to reflect on the importance of inclusion and acceptance.

A strong emphasis was placed on kindness—promoting empathy, respect, and understanding. One child from The Nest shared a powerful message often used in their provision:

“We listen and we don’t judge.”

This simple yet meaningful statement truly captured the spirit of Autism Awareness Day, reminding us that kindness begins with understanding one another.

We are incredibly proud of the pupils from The Nest for leading such a meaningful and impactful assembly. By sharing their voices so confidently, they reminded us all that when we live by our School Values, we create a community where everyone feels valued and a true sense of belonging.
