Children's Mental Health Week
Children's Mental Health Week

Children’s Mental Health Week will be an important focus in school this week. We will begin with a whole‑school assembly built around the story Ruby’s Worry, helping children understand that everyone experiences worries and that sharing them can make a big difference. Each class will now explore the theme further through their own age‑appropriate assemblies, including mindfulness activities that support calmness, confidence, and emotional awareness.
Across all of this, we’ve linked the week to our core School Aims: Be Safe, by recognising feelings and knowing who to talk to; Be Ready, by developing strategies that help children manage their emotions and approach learning positively; and Be Respectful, by encouraging kindness, empathy, and understanding towards themselves and others.
Preston places pupil wellbeing at the heart of everything we do, and this week will be a meaningful opportunity to strengthen that commitment.
