Foundation Stage Child-Led Tour
Ready for Work

To support our School Aims, Love to Learn and Ready for Work, yesterday, the children in Foundation were tour guides! Parents, carers, and extended family members came into the classroom and the children gave them a personalised tour of the learning environment. The children prepared a tour guide tick sheet, some key vocabulary, and stem sentences to use.
The tour enabled the children to practise their Oracy skills, particularly presentational talk—the ability to speak clearly, confidently, and with purpose to an audience. Speaking to familiar adults is a great starting point for developing these skills, helping children to build confidence in expressing their ideas and sharing their learning. It was a joy to see them take pride in explaining their routines, learning areas, and favourite activities.
The children have only been in school for five weeks but are already showing great responsibility for their learning environment. It was wonderful to hear the children talk so positively and feel proud to be part of the Preston family. Well done Puffins and Penguins!
