Love to Learn

Love to Learn - Library Visits

February 11, 2026

Over the past couple of weeks, children in Foundation have been visiting Torquay Library to inspire a love of reading and to link with their learning ‘When I Grow Up…’. During the visits, they met the librarians and learnt more about their important role in helping others find and enjoy books. We were also delighted to give our Reading Ambassadors the opportunity to share their enthusiasm and love of reading with the children in Foundation by accompanying them on the trips. They supported and encouraged the younger children by helping them choose books, reading stories, making recommendations, and fostering a love of reading.

This initiative not only builds confidence and literacy skills in younger pupils but also nurtures leadership and communication skills in our ambassadors, who were fantastic role models, and truly demonstrated our School Aim, ‘Love to Learn’. The staff at the library commented on how well behaved the children were and how lovely it was to see so many young readers enjoying the facility. It is wonderful to see our school and community working together to inspire a lifelong love of books and reading.
