Torbay Children's Parliament
Torbay Children's Parliament

Last Friday, four children in Year 5, Ruby, Poppy, Trixie, and Iris took part in Torbay Children’s Parliament at Torquay Town Hall.
For the past few weeks, the children have been working hard on their presentation, which had to address the theme of getting more young people to vote. The girls wanted to focus on the difference young votes can make to our local community. All the children in Year 5 had an opportunity to work in small groups and then present to Unit 4. Ruby, Poppy, Trixie, and Iris were the winning team.
Ten schools in Torbay attended the event last week. The girls had to present in front of a judging panel which consisted of the Director of Corporate Services and three Councillors from Torbay Council. The judges felt that our team's presentation was clear and presented well. The children demonstrated our School Aim of 'Be a Good Citizen' amazingly, as they represented our school and their local community. Well done girls, we are very proud of you!
