World Book Day Celebrations

We have had a wonderful World Book Day! We began the morning with a fun whole‑school reading assembly. It was fantastic to see everyone dressed up as their favourite book characters. We talked about reading for pleasure and how stories can open the door to exciting adventures and new ideas. We enjoyed listening to stories together, and the Starlings took part in the BBC Live Lesson for World Book Day—well done to all of them, and a special mention to Ruby for asking such a brilliant question to the authors!

Throughout the day, the children took part in lots of reading and book‑themed activities. In the afternoon, we spent time in our house groups sharing books and helping one another with craft activities and games linked to stories. The children truly demonstrated our school value of Teamwork.

We ended the day back in our classes, trying to guess the identities of our mysterious ‘Masked Readers’.
