Be a Good Citizen

Rowcroft Assembly for Livermead House

June 27, 2025

Yesterday, our Livermead House Captains – Jess, Levi, Emily and Ryan - led a wonderful and inspiring House Assembly to celebrate the incredible success of their recent fundraising event in support of Rowcroft Hospice.

The children organised a fantastic Pre-Loved Book Sale, and thanks to the overwhelming generosity, kindness, and community spirit of pupils and families across the school, they raised a brilliant £120! The House Captains spoke with immense pride and excitement about the incredible kindness shown by children and families across the school, who donated a wonderful abundance of pre-loved books and gave so generously to support Rowcroft through their purchases.

Livermead House were thrilled to welcome Debbi from Rowcroft Hospice to accept the donation. She was truly moved by the compassion shown by everyone at Preston and shared how the funds raised could either provide 15 nourishing meals for patients or their loved ones, 4 hours of dedicated nurse care either in the hospice or at home, or 2 uplifting music therapy sessions – a truly special outcome made possible by the generosity of our school community.

Debbi expressed her heartfelt thanks to Livermead House and the wider school community, praising the incredible generosity and thoughtfulness that made this donation possible. The assembly was a beautiful reminder of how, when we come together with kindness and purpose, we can make a real and lasting difference.

This event was a shining example of our school aim to "Be a Good Citizen", showing how empathy, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose can create something truly special.

A huge well done to Livermead House – you have made us all proud!
