Recently the children of Unit 3 have enjoyed trips to the animal care facilities at South Devon College as part of our Learning Experience, ‘Preston Farmers’. The children were given the opportunity to feed the goats and meerkats and to experience the facilities first hand. The staff at the unit were great at showing the children how essential maths is when looking after animals, and the children had a go at solving some real life problems for them including working out how much food the animals needed. The children brought lots of knowledge back to school with them ready for our projects to begin. Unit 3 staff would like to thank South Devon College for enabling us to offer the children this experience.
