School Council

Democracy
Democracy is an important British value that we want all the children at Preston to know about, which is why our school council is important and allows our children to voice their opinions. Last half term, every class in KS1 and KS2 held hustings to vote for their class school council representative for the year. The children who wanted to be put forward wrote a speech to share with their peers. Well done to all the children who shared their speeches. Each child voted, and one representative was chosen from each class. Here are our school council representatives for this year:
Kestrels- Kaya
Eagles- Evie-Rose
Hawks- Amelie
Sparrows- Sam
Starlings- Issy
Swifts- Levi
Snowy Owls- Poppy
Tawny Owls- Izzy
Little Owls- Frankie
Buzzards- Benjamin
This year, school council representatives will be conducting surveys around the school to gather children’s views on school life. This could include surveys on school lunch options or opinions on playground leader activities. The school council representatives will be responsible for gathering children’s views and then sharing this information with their class. We look forward to seeing the changes the school council make this year.
