The children in the Owl classes have been working in collaborative groups to explore making structures from paper, wood and bricks. They have used creativity and critical thinking to design and build a house for the Three Little Pigs that the Big Bad Wolf can’t blow down. The children explored ways of making each type of material stronger. They were encouraged to think about the benefits and drawbacks of each type of material – what would they be useful for and what wouldn’t they be useful for? The children have developed their communication skills as they worked together to fulfil the design criteria for their structure.
