Foundation Stage Newsletter

Dear Parents,

We would like to take this opportunity to say it has been a privilege supporting your child in their first school year. What a wonderful fun filled year it has been, so much fun and laughter. To see all the children grow in confidence has been a true delight. We wish them luck on their onward journey through school. Thank you for all your support and kind words. The partnership between yourselves and school is so important for your child’s development, it has been a pleasure. We would like to share some photos of the last few weeks (please see newsletter page or school app).

Have a wonderful safe Summer.

Beach Trip

How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and we took full advantage of it on our beach trips. The children were incredibly well behaved and sensible, a credit to the school. They demonstrated all our school values.

Woodland Camp

Although the weather has been extremely hot recently, it did not stop us from cooking popcorn and toasting marshmallows on a campfire in the Woodland Camp! The children had lots of fun and found it particularly amusing when the popcorn kept popping out of the pan.

We have enjoyed lots of learning experiences and adventures in the Woodland Camp this year, we are very lucky to have such wonderful facilities.

From Field to fork!

Back in April, the children planted some seed potatoes. This week, the children were very excited to unearth all the potatoes that had grown! They were very proud of their produce. The children washed the potatoes and then cooked some to try for lunch. They were very impressed and proud that they had grown them themselves. They were very delicious. Well done Puffins and Penguins.

The Brush Bus Survey

This week your child brought home a free Brush Bus gift pack. It contained a new toothbrush, toothpaste and a 2-minute timer. The children understand the importance of looking after their teeth, they have shown great responsibility. We hope they continue the great work at home.

We have recently sent you a link on Seesaw to complete a short (six question) survey regarding the impact of the tooth brushing scheme. We would really appreciate your support to complete the survey. Thank you in advance.

Dates

  • Friday 23rd July – last day of term.
  • Thursday 2nd Sept – first day of Autumn term.

Messages

We will be sending home mud suits and wellies this week. If your child has outgrown their suit or wellies, we would be grateful for donations.

Home access to Seesaw will cease over the summer holidays when your child’s account is archived. We have enjoyed sharing your child’s journey through Foundation.

Have a wonderful Summer.
