Remembrance Assembly
Today, Unit 4 presented their Remembrance Assembly to Units 2 and 3. As part of their assembly, the children explained why you should take time to reflect, especially on Remembrance Day. We would like to thank Mr Apps for joining our assembly and expressing his thoughts through a poem. It is important that we teach the children to be good citizens, to be tolerant, and to be respectful. Children need to understand the importance of accepting other people’s differences and cultures, which links to our Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) unit about celebrating differences. All children in the assembly showed their school value of respect.
We would like to thank the House Captains for their support in selling poppies last week after school. By selling the poppies, they helped to raise money and awareness for soldiers who have fought in wars around the world.
Finally, we are really proud to see so many of our children take part in the Remembrance Day Parades yesterday as part of the Scout Association and Girl Guides. A fabulous example of children demonstrating our school aim of ‘Be a Good Citizen.’
